Electric RC Car Parts & Accessories
Mainly there are six main parts of electric RC vehicle:
- Transmitter
This is the radio control you hold in your hand. By tuning in a specific frequency, this electronic device controls the speed and direction of your car by communicating with receiver which is attach to car's body. - Receiver
It consist two parts: an antenna to receive radio signal from transmitter and a circuit board inside the car that translate the signal into command to move appropriate parts of the vehicle. - RC Motor:
This part is the most important part of your RC, the car engine, the heart of your car. - Battery Pack
You need 7.2 volts rechargeable battery pack as the power source of your electric RC car. Make sure to use good quality batteries made of either nickel-cadmium (NiCD) or nickel-hydride (NiMH) rechargeable batteries. Use NiMH rechargeable batteries as your first option. - AA Batteries
Transmitter need 12 volts to power up, while most transmitter will work fine with 8 AA batteries that produce only 9.6 volts, it best to use alkaline batteries to supply the power. - Battery Charger
Good battery charger will keep your batteries use longer. There are two types of battery charger available:- Timer charger
When using timer charger you want to keep monitor whether battery is fully charged or not. Charging process will takes about 15-30 minutes , makes sure you not overcharging too often. - Peak detection chargers
This charger is more expensive, but performance comes with its price. It intelligently prevent overcharging once the batteries fully charge by automatically shutting off.
